Local Law Enforcement
Approximately fifty vehicles have been marked with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the German town of Hanau close to Frankfurt, as reported by police.
Automobiles, exterior walls and postboxes were vandalized, occasionally with swastikas, they stated in a statement.
Officers say they were notified in the late hours on Wednesday evening, when a resident observed that a automobile in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish substance.
The substance had been drawn in the shape of a banned symbol, they added.
Officers then discovered numerous other smeared cars and residential walls in the nearby vicinity.
Nazi symbols are banned in Germany under regulations banning the public display of Nazi-era symbols.
Law enforcement state initial examinations indicate the fluid was most likely blood from a person.
"Currently there is no lead as to its source; officials are not yet informed of any injuries in relation with the incident," they commented.
City officials stated they were trying "to resolve the incident" and have requested to the community for tips.
A senior political figure commented the incident made him without words and required to be resolved promptly.
"This act strikes at the center of Hanau and revives the trauma of the far-right violent incident five years ago," he stated on a platform, mentioning the death of nine people by a assailant aiming at residents of migrant background in five years prior.
